The idea for the travel dulcimer started in February 2004 as a request from some one for a small dulcimer that her son could put into a sea bag. Through follow-up conversations, I learned that this young man was a Marine. Having a daughter in the navy myself, I am very aware of the personal sacrifices that are made by those serving in our armed forces. Because of this I decided that the first travel dulcimer would be a gift "for services rendered".

In November I had the pleasure of presenting another travel dulcimer to be given to Nick DePietri who is shown in the picture above. Nick graduated from Marine boot camp on December 10th, 2004. Congratulations to Nick! To all the other young men and women who serve in the military, words can not express my gratitude and pride.
